Walhalla focuses on playing classic rock and j-pop/rock covers, including songs from Led Zeppelin, Poison, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Unison Square Garden, Kana-Boon, Zutomayo, and more. Currently playing shows around Boston, MA, Walhalla has performed at venues such as The Jungle, Middle East, The Burren, Union Tavern, and some house shows, such as basement Venus and Wonderland Allston. The band has also performed at big national events, such as Anime Boston 2023.
The band was formed in Fall 2022 with the goal of performing classic rock and j-pop/rock covers around the area. It is made up by Anika Mladineo (guitarist, leader and founder), Victoria Xu (vocalist), June Redmer (bassist), Christopher Salinas (keyboardist), and Chris Beller (drummer). These musicians met during their time at Berklee College of Music and had the chance of performing together in different occasions while they were college students. Anika decided to hire these people to form the band Walhalla, as she saw something special in each of them. Since November 2022, Walhalla has been frequently performing live and making the audiences dance and head-bang every time they are onstage.
